ABOUT Frankie Edgar

Not only is Frankie "The Answer" Edgar one of the world’s best fighters, he’s also one of the world’s nicest guys.

A lifelong New Jersey resident, Frankie began his career as an accomplished wrestler at Toms River East High School and Clarion University before entering into the field of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Once in MMA, Frankie quickly became the 155lb Reality Fighting Championship champion. Achieving this status quickly got the attention of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) - the world’s largest stage for the fast growing sport on this planet.

Since entering the UFC, Frankie has beaten some of the world’s top fighters including Spencer Fisher, Hermes Franca, Tyson Griffin (one of only two men to defeat Urijah Faber) and most notably the former UFC Lightweight champion, Sean Sherk. This achievement has earned Frankie the status of being a Top-10 fighter in the world in his 155lb weight class. It also makes Frankie a title contender!

Frankie’s MMA record is 11-1. This impressive record has landed Frankie a shot at the title in April against longtime champion, BJ Penn- considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the history of MMA. Frankie is excited at this opportunity. Through his hard work, grit and determination, Frankie has had great success in his role as the underdog...

When he’s not fighting or training for fighting, Frankie is busy coaching wrestling at Rutgers University and being a husband to his wife Renee and father to his son.

When UFC Legend & Hall of Famer Royce Gracie had to last minute cancel his last year’s appearance at the Allies Inc. fundraiser due to the death of his father the morning of the event, without hesitation Frankie stepped in to meet, greet, sign autographs and take pictures with the hundreds of people who attended the event. As mentioned, not only is Frankie one of the best fighters in the world, he’s also one of the world's best guys.

It is once again an honor to have Frankie be part of this special event for the third year in a row. Allies Inc. deeply appreciates his time and his family’s support in having him be our co-headliner on this night. Please check out Frankie's website at www.frankedgar.com and support his efforts- including his title fight in April on Pay-Per-View. Thank you!
